Cut by eye rather than by machine, antique diamonds have high crowns, small tables and open culets. The result is broad, chunky flashes of colour that glow in candle light. We source genuine antiques and cut faithful new ones to order, from small accent stones to 10 ct+, loose or set in jewelry.
Genuine antique or modern antique-style?
Genuine antiques were cut before around 1930. Each is one of a kind, often with slightly irregular outlines, and graded by GIA as "old mine" or "old European" in the comments. Supply is limited and prices depend heavily on character.
Modern antique-style cuts are cut today with the same facet plans. They are easier to match, available in larger sizes and in lab-grown, and can be cut to your exact outline and ratio.
Rare specialty cuts we cut to order
The Portuguese round adds extra rows of facets for dense, glittering sparkle. The Dutch marquise pairs a marquise-like outline with a stepped crown. The moval sits between an oval and a marquise. The Ashoka is a rounded rectangle inspired by historic Indian stones.
